Aleksandr Morozov

Frontend Systems Engineer

Engineering. With an eye for detail.

I’m Aleksandr Morozov. I build complex frontend systems, from architecture and performance to the smallest details of how an interface feels.

How I work

The system and the detail

I want to understand what happens beneath the surface. How data moves. Where time goes. Why an interface behaves the way it does. That understanding shapes the product.

See the whole system

I connect interface behavior to data and asynchronous work. Long operations, cancellation, retries, and stale responses all need clear ownership.

Architecture · State · AI

Reduce the waiting

I trace slow loading, rendering, builds, and checks to their cause. I measure the full workflow before and after each change, so users and engineers both get their time back.

Performance · Build systems · CI

Follow through on the details

I build shared components and styles, then test real states, long text, keyboard paths, and narrow screens. The details should hold up across the whole product.

Beyond the day job

I explore local AI models and knowledge tools, and take gaming a little too seriously.
Away from the screen, I enjoy photography, good sound, coffee, and travel.

Experience

2009 — present

The work
that shaped me

Hands-on frontend engineering since 2009, from building product interfaces to leading a team and setting technical direction. Today, my focus is complex AI products, frontend architecture, performance, and reliable delivery. Some roles overlapped; the dates and timeline show that.

    Senior Frontend Engineer

I turn complex AI workflows into reliable product behavior, from architecture and implementation through performance, testing, and release.

    • Build complete generation, research, and editing flows, including streaming, long-running work, cancellation, and recovery when things go wrong.
    • Trace performance and consistency problems through rendering, state, data subscriptions, and browser behavior. Fix the cause and verify the result with profiling, tests, and observability.
    • Build shared components and styles, implement designs with pixel-level accuracy, and use visual tests to catch layout regressions across screen sizes and states.
    • Improve end-to-end coverage, build tooling, and CI so changes are easier to verify and safer to release.
    • Senior Frontend Engineer Feb 2024 — present
    • Front-End Developer · part-time Jun 2022 — Feb 2024
  2. Captiv8

    Technical leadership

    Senior Front-End Developer → Front-End Technical Lead

Set frontend technical direction and stayed hands-on with architecture, performance, and product delivery.

    • Led a five-person frontend team: hiring, onboarding, code review, technical guidance, and coordination with product, design, backend, and DevOps.
    • Owned and implemented performance and development workflow improvements, from lazy loading and bundle reduction to faster local development and CI feedback, with QA validation.
    • Developed shared UI foundations and visual regression testing while moving complex product workflows from prototypes into React.
    • Front-End Technical Lead Jan 2023 — Feb 2024
    • Lead Front-End Developer Aug 2021 — Jan 2023
    • Senior Front-End Developer Apr 2016 — Aug 2021
  3. Voiceflow

    Contract

    Remote Front-End Developer

Helped implement a platform redesign and a visual editor. Turned detailed interaction and layout requirements into prototypes, styles, and components that other developers could build on.

    More about this role

September 2021 — May 2022. Layout and component work for the visual editor.

  4. Chattermill

    Contract

    Remote Front-End Developer

Built a unified component system for an application redesign across Ember and React. Implemented Highcharts visualizations and custom extensions, then continued work with the React team on shared interface components.

    More about this role

January 2019 — July 2021. Component systems, data visualization, chart extensions, and component styling.

  5. StoryLine / Invocable

    Contract

    Front-End Developer

Delivered new screens and system components for a platform redesign, owning prototypes, styling, visual checks, and interface work ready for release.

    More about this role

April 2018 — January 2019. Interface redesign, prototyping, and visual testing.

  6. Adamantium

    Product development

    Front-End Developer

Built interfaces for RhythmOne, RadiumOne, and Po.st, from detailed HTML prototypes to React and Redux components. Improved existing product interfaces alongside new feature work.

    More about this role

January 2015 — June 2019. Interface prototypes, component development, and product improvements.

  7. Freelance

    The beginning

    Front-End Developer

Built responsive websites and WordPress projects, and worked on frontend performance. The beginning of a habit I still rely on: understanding how things work before changing them.

    More about this role

2009 — September 2019. Independent frontend projects, overlapping with later roles.
